Accidentally missed try-outs!?

I accidentally missed tryouts for both field hockey and cross country! Since I never tried out for a fall sport before, I didn’t know that tryouts / the elegibility forms were due in the summer! ))): So I didn’t know that tryout already happened last week until today when I went on the school website to check for a school supply list. Do you think that there is any chance I would still be able to get onto either field hockey or cross-country? I know that they didn’t make any cuts for field hockey and they let everyone onto cross country. Plus I was away on vacation the two weeks of all of the tryouts anyway in Aruba so I wouldn’t have been able to make it anyway even if I knew about it. Do you think the coaches would still let me on the teams if I called and asked / emailed them? /:

If the coaches aren’t very strict I guess. I know if it was at my high school they wouldn’t let you, unless you were busy with another sport and you told them ahead of time that you wouldn’t be there.
